Pitstop helps drivers find independent local mechanics for scheduled vehicle repair and maintenance, at a workshop or with a mobile mechanic. Compare specialties, services, availability and upfront quotes in the iPhone app.

Mechanics set their own prices. Availability depends on approved mechanics serving your area. Pitstop is not an emergency roadside or towing service.

How Pitstop works

  1. Find a mechanic. Search by vehicle, service and area, including specialists for makes such as Mercedes-Benz.
  2. Request a time. Review the mechanic’s listed service and price, then send a booking request. The mechanic can accept and discuss the job with you.
  3. Approve the work. See itemized labor, parts, travel and tax amounts. If the quote changes, you approve it before the mechanic continues.
  4. Pay after completion. When online payment is available, pay in the app through Stripe after the mechanic marks the job complete. Pitstop’s 5% marketplace fee comes from the mechanic’s payout rather than being added to your quote.

Bookings, cancellations and refunds

Customers or mechanics can cancel a requested or accepted booking in the app before work starts. Once a job is in progress, contact saidmakj@gmail.com with the booking ID if there is a problem. Pitstop does not charge an automatic cancellation fee through the app.

If you have a question about a completed job, charge or refund, email support with your booking ID and a description. We review the issue and, when a refund is approved, process it through Stripe to the original payment method. Prices are set by independent mechanics; savings are not guaranteed.
